Ordinary Wizarding Level

The Ordinary Wizarding Level (often abbreviated O.W.L.) is a series of subject-specific standardised tests taken during Hogwarts students' fifth year to determine if they had mastered magic to the standard level that any competent wizard should have been able to achieve.
